  4. Alexander wanted every-
  5. body in his empire to speak
  6. Greek and to act like
  7. Greeks, but many Jews
  8. didn't want to have anything
  9. to do with Greek ideas but
  10. wanted to stick with God's
  11. Law.  They came to be
  12. known as the Pharisees.

  15. a while they began to think
  16. that keeping God's law was
  17. more important than loving
  18. God or loving other people.
